As they tend to do every 18 months in North London, reports have begun to emerge that Tottenham Hotspur players growing frustrated at the manager.

This time, Ange Postecoglou is the man who is taking the fall for the poor results on the pitch at Spurs, just like his predecessors.

Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte, Nuno Espirito Santo and Mauricio Pochettino are the last four managers who have all struggled at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

When things start to go wrong at Tottenham, a similar excuse seems to emerge from the players and Postecoglou is the latest victim of this.

Tottenham players unhappy with Ange Postecoglou’s training sessions

It is being reported this morning that Tottenham players have complained about the ‘demands of training’ under Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham supporters will now be all too familiar with this excuse having heard the same under their last four managers.

Back in 2019, the Daily Mail reported that members of the Spurs’ squad were blaming their poor form on the intensity of their training schedule under Mauricio Pochettino.

Fast forward less than two years and the excuse used under Jose Mourinho was complaints about his training being ‘too focused on defending’, as per the Athletic.

Under Nuno, his training apparently left the players ‘baffled’, as per the Evening Standard and finally, Conte’s sessions were deemed to be ‘boring’.

These are all such poor excuses from the players and only hides the fact that each of the last four Spurs bosses have never been sufficiently supported.

Is Ange Postecoglou under pressure at Tottenham?

Tottenham have no immediate plans to replace Postecoglou with Daniel Levy feeling that the injury crisis has been the catalyst to their dire campaign.

The Lilywhites were without 11 first-team players for their trip to Goodison Park where they suffered a 12th defeat of the season.

In terms of replacements, Marco Silva’s £8 million release clause makes appointing him tricky, meanwhile, Spurs have also identified Andoni Iraola and Thomas Frank as potential candidates.
