Tottenham could now get revenge on Antonio Conte for his many tirades against Spurs in press conferences.
The Italian attacked Tottenham’s culture in March 2023, telling Daniel Levy that he “can change the manager but the situation cannot change” while also calling Spurs players a “selfish” bunch.
Now, Ange Postecoglou could get one over on Antonio Conte by bringing a Napoli target to Tottenham…
Tottenham seen as threat to Napoli chances of signing Mario Hermoso
A story from Radio Punto Nuovo now claims that Conte has personally asked Mario Hermoso to join Napoli.
The Spain international – who has been compared to Sergio Ramos – is wanted by Napoli, although the Italian giants are not in a position to welcome him to Naples just yet, as they are trying to sell a defender to make space.
Interestingly, Radio Punto Nuovo add that Tottenham are lurking in the background, and could actually swoop in to sign Hermoso before Conte can free up a space in his squad for the Spaniard.
Interest from Spurs is even described as a “problem” for Napoli by the Italian news outlet.

The 29-year-old is currently a free agent after his contract with Atletico Madrid expired, so Tottenham are free to make an approach whenever they please, even outside of the transfer window.
Radu Dragusin may be annoyed if Spurs sign Spain international
Radu Dragusin might have something to say to Postecoglou if Tottenham sign Hermoso this summer.
The Romania international arrived at Spurs in a £26m deal from Genoa back in January, but only made four Premier League starts in the second half of last season.
A story from Gazzetta dello Sport even claimed that Dragusin could leave N17 if he fails to receive assurances over playing time from Postecoglou ahead of next season.

Ironically, the Romanian could also end up being an alternative to Hermoso for Napoli, as another Italian news outlet in Area Napoli stated that the defender would be willing to join Conte’s side if his situation at Tottenham does not change.

Therefore, if Spurs end up signing Hermoso, it could throw Dragusin’s future at Tottenham in doubt.
